Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Real-time updates includes live text for Sunday's games on various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage can be heard through select stations covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar , following recent discussion about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking in those games were the amount of penalties both committed. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play in London this weekend.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver have the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet the Broncos won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily sending more than four defenders instead they might position two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year strongly then did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Could Denver be this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive that head coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

That shows that Denver are a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in positive situations.

It's also helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw all over, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His assets include his movement, being able to pass while moving, and using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves outside protection, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle or over the corner.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he displays a lot of composure in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to evade a sack as much as possible and can pass in tight spots. He possesses a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you consistently rush it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to be in play extended periods, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense has to defend the area vertically side to side. It can be exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems Payton appreciates that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's fun for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. The coach can really build something up the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix helps make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they good enough to go against an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think Denver are elite. They're performing above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do against the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (among the worst), five ground scores this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad yet to win a game.

Ever since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start after a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver face a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they meet because the Broncos {beat|def
