The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has tragically died in a traffic collision in California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, a game studio which he helped establish.

The renowned video game developer died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday, US media outlets report.
