The Renowned Musician Calls On Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Holiday Chart Peak.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to send support to Gaza's residents while also spotlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the release called 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disheartened if it fails to, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the reimagining of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's defiant core message.

“It has a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “It’s basically saying that I would rather die in dignity than spend my life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The song was recorded in the wake of a solidarity show held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.

The notable list of performers contributing to Lullaby encompasses a group of well-known figures from the music world. All participated in the September show, which managed to collect a considerable total for relief efforts.

Production and Release

Lullaby was crafted by a team of music creators. The song features a mix of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an partnering humanitarian organization.

“We haven't set a fixed goal,” a figure explained. “We will pursue the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to the people of Gaza.”

The context in the territory was noted for its profound destruction, with a huge proportion of infrastructure described as destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a couple of million is unlikely to make an enormous impact. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and proving that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a full recording of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
