Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized the Russian player won his first title for 882 days with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with former coach his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his first trophy after the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates he has achieved 21 titles at twenty-one different tournaments.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I won when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to question if his ability to compete at the top level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved service.

The champion came back from a break down in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing four of the final five games to go ahead.

The competitors exchanged breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his maiden professional victory, seized the initiative to create a decider.

The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
