Netflix Selects Perfect Performer for Mr. 2 in the Hit Series Season 3
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t take place until the next season, and a cherished, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bentham. This character has the ability to transform into an exact copy of anyone they’ve made contact with with their right hand. The performer, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will portray a version of that character reinterpreted as non-binary identifying, instead of as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, differing from the original manga and animated series.
Escola is joined by several other recently announced actors set to bring the group to life, including chief the main antagonist, brought to life by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who also joins the ensemble as the ruler of the fictional land.
Though Bon Clay is a important part of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece the third season. With the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden arc, this represents a significant shift in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal more adjustments to the plot development.
The actor’s combination of excellent comedic sense and deep sensitivity makes them a ideal selection for the part. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and several accolades for penning and acting in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, showcasing the versatility they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.
The platform’s adapted One Piece series is due to premiere for its season two on the tenth of March, 2026.
