The City of Angels witnessed citywide celebrations after the Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series championship. Supporters across the globe united with local residents in celebration, marking the initial time in 25 years that a franchise has secured back-to-back championships.

Celebration Parade Draws Massive Crowds

Local celebrations included a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at Dodger Stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.

Online footage show countless of Los Angeles residents flooding city center avenues, many carrying handmade banners and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy proudly.

“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to do this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.

The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the team walked out to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities began well before the procession, with supporters setting off flares in the streets of the city center on the previous evening.

The World Series MVP, awarded the World Series’ Most Valuable Player, commented directly about the victory.

“We refuse to lose,” Yamamoto stated. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”

Varied Responses and City Unity

In contrast, Mark Walter was met with a cooler reception at the rally. Recordings from the gathering seem to depict him taking the stage to a combination of cheers and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his address.

The championship served as a positive moment in what has been a challenging year for Los Angeles. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater enthusiasm.

“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
